View from the house to the new garden room.
The original garden of this Arts and Crafts style house was laid out in the1930’s. The design required the restoration of walls and steps; new seating areas to enhance the existing layout and replanting the whole garden following extensive clearance of trees and shrubs.
The restored stone steps framed by Magnolia liliiflora ‘ Nigra’ and spreading Japanese maples.
The new timber pergola edged with fragrant climbers and perennials.
The area around the back door was dominated by the unscreened bins and dark concrete paving slabs.
The new trellis arbour and seat set in the east facing border provides a place to enjoy the morning sun.
3 individual cobble mosaics were designed and made by David James, Olicana Mosaics to provide focal points.
The original stone steps overgrown by planting. The wing walls were collapsing due to pressure created by tree roots.
The area around the door was enhanced by new stone paving; trellis to screen the bins and planting to soften the walls.
